


GAME DRIVES
Day of arrival
Guests normally arrive at Ghoha around midday to early afternoon
When arriving at Ghoha Hills you will be welcomed by the amazing staff. A short briefing will be done in the main lounge area where after you will be shown to your room for relaxation and freshening up. High Tea is served at 16h00 in the open-plan dining area, where you can enjoy unparalleled views of the Savuti and an active waterhole. Home-baked cake and savouries, as well as cold refreshments, tea and fresh coffee will be on offer for your enjoyment. You will meet your guide during High Tea – he will at this stage get your orders for refreshments during your afternoon Sundowner drive. The afternoon sunset game drive departs around 16h30 utilising our private network of roads, drinks of choice which will be enjoyed either at the hide overlooking Ghoha’s private waterhole or you’ll arrive at a cluster of Baobab trees where magnificent sunsets can be enjoyed.
Herds of elephants, buffalo, impala, kudu, giraffe, zebra, roan antelope, hyena, lions and leopard are some of the possible sightings around in the area. Not to mention the numerous different bird species.
You will return to camp around 18h30 for a nice hot shower and freshening up. Your guide will meet you at a pre-arranged time at your room to accompany you the Main area for a pre-dinner drink around the bonfire in the Boma and catch up with the other guests and their stories. Dinner is in the Dining Area anytime from 19h30 onwards
The Savuti Marsh Excursion (Minimum 2 night stay)
You will receive a wakeup call at 5am.
Your guide will collect you from your room at 5h30 for breakfast. You have a choice of continental buffet or ordering hot breakfast. Departing at 6h00. There are various stretching points en route so you will stop again for some Tea/Coffee and rusks and the Cathedral of Baobabs is one of them and offers some outstanding photographic opportunities.
Your professional guide will ensure that you are exposed to all the different landscapes and wildlife the area has to offer. The Savuti Marsh excursion includes waterholes, marsh area and baobab stretching points, riversides and grasslands. Just to name a few: Harvey’s Pan, where so many animals roam daily, the Savuti Sand Ridge, the Kudu Hills, Quarry hill and rock climbing to get a close view of the Bushmen Rock Paintings, seeing the Pimple Hills as well as Twin Hills.
At around mid-morning you will stop and enjoy a light snack and refreshments at one of the many stretching points en-route.
The drive will then continue further showcasing the wonders of the Savuti Marsh with its magnificent herds of Buffalo and Elephant, in addition to many other species of game and bird-life will be found.
You will return to Ghoha Hills for lunch which is served between 13h00 – 14h00.
After lunch you can relax in the lodge area, have a swim or enjoy a work out in the gym or have a spa treatment. We also have Wi-Fi available, letting you connect to loved ones or just catch up on the news
High Tea and Sundowner Game drive will start again at 16h00 that afternoon.
As there are many amazing areas to the world renowned Savuti Marsh area. So, if you are staying longer there are many different areas that can be explored in the Marsh and surrounding Ghoha Hills area. This will be discussed between yourselves and the guide as per the routes and sightings that were enjoyed the previous day.
Day of Departure:
You have a choice of sleeping late having a hot breakfast and then departing to the airstrip – depending on time of flight a short game circuit en-route can be done.
OR
Getting up early for a drive to the hide for Coffee & rusks and then returning for a hot breakfast and then departing to the airstrip.
SPA
At Ghoha Hills our professionally trained therapists will ensure you walk away from your soothing spa treatments feeling pampered and relaxed.
CUISINE
Breakfasts are hearty and coffee, tea, home baked rusks and biscuits are ready for the early risers at the boma. Home baked biscuits, bread rolls, pastries, cakes and scones are on offer at tea times.
There is always a friendly and helpful staff member on hand to serve up a freshly brewed bodum of coffee. All meals are served overlooking the bush in the main guest area.
The boma is lit in the evenings where guests can enjoy pre-dinner drinks. At dinner, wholesome, home cooked meals may be enjoyed. Lunches, dinners, drinks, refreshments and picnic lunches are all included.
Picnic baskets are provided on game drives and enjoyed whilst admiring the African wilderness. Private and intimate dinners are catered for.
We also cater for various diets, vegan, vegetarian, lactose free, gluten free etc.
HELICOPTER
Scenic Photography Flights
Experience the breath-taking views seen only from a helicopter – with the doors off – an even better photographic experience. Fly towards the Linyanti Marsh area and see an even greater part of Botswana.
Scenic flights are conducted any time of day, with keen photographers usually preferring the early morning or late afternoon. While some guests prefer flying a little later in the day – enjoying a hot breakfast in camp and then departing by 4 x 4 to the pick-up point for this amazing experience.
One-hour, 45-minute and 30-minute flights are available.
